I'm Nicole Kazikiewicz, owner of Plucky Petals Art Studio. I have a passion for creating art and love watching my artists bloom with confidence and pride as their skills increase and they start believing that they really are artists. My philosophy is that art is for everyone, not just a gifted few. Every child and adult have creative wings, and when encouraged, nurtured, and given the chance to explore; those wings spread and they can find their very own unique style. It is an honor to be a part of that creative journey.
I am a homeschool Mom who dove into art and wanted to bring my love of creating to my son. This journey started with learning all the ins and outs of elementary arts, so that I may teach it to him. I leaped in deep and explored the multiple mediums and techniques, drawing, and painting focused on the developmental stages of children's art. I took courses and workshops for teaching elementary and middle school students and just explored. Next thing I knew, we were having art playdates and then I started teaching art at our Homeschool Co-op. I found myself in love with teaching art and discovered what I wanted to do when I grew up. With lots of encouragement from friends and family, I started teaching outside the friends and Co-op circle and after five years, Plucky Petals Art Studio got its beginnings.
I aim to provide children from the ages of 5 to 14 with a safe and nurturing environment to explore their creativity and build on their artistic talents. My art curriculum meets National Core Art Standards and will focus on particular skills, elements & principles of art, and media techniques that will help students build confidence and skill on their creative journey.

TESTIMONIALS
“Nicole is a wonderful art teacher. Our son was not really interested in doing art but Nicole pushed him to try and he had an amazing time while also learning about different techniques and styles. She makes each class fun and engaging. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to expand their child's creativity in a positive learning environment."

“I am very happy with the way she approaches art and teaching it. She engages the kids well and even in the younger classes puts in a variety of art terms as well as a wide variety of styles and mediums. Love the way she also stresses that it is their art work and to put their creativity and vision into it. Very glad that I found her. She enjoys what she does and it shows in her teaching."

“My boys have been taking Nicole's art classes for the past couple of years. She is so knowledgeable and makes learning art fun. This experience has inspired our boys to do more drawing and painting on their own at home and we couldn't be happier! We are totally excited to be doing her art camps this summer along with being able to take her classes during the school year. Looking forward to hanging more masterpieces on our walls!"
